AcroYoga is much more than just postures, sequences, & even than just a purely partner practice. For those days when you don’t have a partner to practice with, Acro conditioning exercises are available to provide tools to get you stronger in your practice still. Postures such as Plank, Side Plank, Boat, & other core conditioning activities will be a part of our Acro Conditioning course. Have a complete set of activities to keep yourself accountable on the foundational conditioning for keeping you a strong partner in this practice, and a general movement practitioner.
A strong conditioning practice coupled with your regular Acro practice will help you get rid of the shakes, calibrate your core, and achieve stability quicker and more consistently. The ability to access this security will allow you to go to new places in your Acro practice. Conditioning is a necessary compliment to any physical practice. We strive to make it fun and achievable - something that you will look forward to, rather than dread or avoid. Consistency is key, and the great thing is, if you are strategic with your conditioning, you will see noticeable results in little time! Core conditioning must be up kept to maintain results, so we designed this program to give you an accessible strategy for doing so.
As it’s Co-Founder, Devon French has been with VanCityAcro since its inception 5 years ago. Devon is also a certified personal trainer, bootcamp instructor, & Hatha Yoga teacher. Lke Slava, Devon has trained in myriad movement modalities, including ballet, circus, martial arts, & dance. This integrative approach is one of the reasons that Slava and Devon work so well together. Devon is currently studying neurology in aims of integrating the scientific- and movement-oriented communities locally. His warmth and approachability, coupled with his years of experience, make Devon a highly sought-after teacher by many in the local Vancouver community.
